Calamba City, Philippines Gets Seal of Good Housekeeping

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has awarded the “Seal of Good Housekeeping” to Calamba City in recognition of its efforts in advancing the principles of accountability and transparency in local governance.

DILG IV-A Regional Director Josefina Castilla-Go presented the department’s plaque marker award to Mayor Joaquin Chipeco Jr. in simple unveiling rites following Monday’s flag-raising at the City Hall grounds here.

Go congratulated Mayor Chipeco “for steering the city towards achieving the DILG transparency program and in demonstrating effective local government administration.”

She also announced the city executive’s continued leadership this year as Regional Chairman of the Peace and Order Council (RPOC) in the Calabarzon region, which immediately scheduled its closed-door session Monday.

The mayor also currently serves as spokesman for the League of Cities of the Philippines.

As recipient of the good housekeeping award, Calamba City received the P30 million-peso incentive award which will be used for various projects.
