The Davao City government has showcased tourism and investments in a three-day business exhibit in Beijing, China from August 30 to September 1.
Davao City Investment and Promotion Center (DCIPC) Chief Jason C. Magnaye said the joint trip by city officials led by Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and local tourism players is a business platform in the China Incentives, Business Travel and Meeting Exhibition (CIBTM) held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing.
Magnaye said some 100 tour operators have agreed to position the city as Meetings Incentives Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) destination.
“Mayor Sara played the key role in the trip and she is bound to deliver a message and presented the video presentation. There will be an interaction by our delegates with Chinese tour operators,” he added.
Magnaye said the city and local tourism stakeholders see China as a huge potential market.
He expressed optimism about the city’s selling points like urban amenities, white sand beaches and a cultural village.
