Power interruption will be experienced next week in some parts of Bataan and Ilocos Sur as well as the province of Abra.
The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), in a notice posted on its website, said two 30-minute power outage will be experienced in areas being catered by the Peninsula Electric Cooperative (PENELCO) from 7:30 to 8am and 5-5:30 pm on January 29, 2013.
Affected areas are Limay, Orion, Pilar, Bagac, Moroing, Abucay and Balanga.
The power cut-off will be on account of “momentary interruption to isolate and reconnect power.”
The areas of Hermosa, Orani and Samal will also experience brownout from 7:30am to 5:30 pm on the same data in line with “annual preventive maintenance and testing of power transformer #1 at NGCP’s Hermosa Substation.”
Similarly, the whole province of Abra, which is being serviced by the Abra Electric Cooperative (ABRECO), will have no electricity from 8am to 5pm on the same date.
Some areas being catered by the Ilocos Sur Electric Cooperative (ISECO) specifically Sta. Maria, Narvacan, Santa, Burgos, San Esteban, Santiago, Candon, Sta. Lucia, Sta. Cruz, Tagudin, Suyo, Salcedo, Galimuyod, Banayoyo, and Lidlidda will also experience brownout same time on the same date
The power shut-down in Abra and parts of Ilocos Sur will be due to the “annual preventive maintenance and testing (APMT) of power transformer 3 and its associated equipment.”
