Revenue collection of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) regional office, known as the Revenue Region No. 15, here reached P226.49 million in September this year, surpassing its goal of P217.49 million by 4.14 percent or P9 million for the month.
BIR Regional Director Rozil Lozares said that the September collection was also higher by 7.34 percent, or P15.5 million, than the P210 million of the same month last year.
The BIR regional office collected a total of P2.16 billion in the first eight months of this year, up 5.69 percent from the collection goal of P2 billion; and 17.89 percent higher than the P1.83 billion nine-month collection in 2009, said Lozares.
Lozares said that of the seven revenue district offices, Revenue District 93-B of Zamboanga Sibugay posted the highest collection performance rate of 26.44 percent for the month of September this year.
Lozares said that Revenue District 93-B collected a total of P21. 28 million in September this year, up P4.5 million from P16,83 million goal.
Revenue District 91 of Dipolog City, the capital of Zamboanga del Norte, followed with a collection performance rate of 4.10 percent after collecting P46.55 million in September this year against P44.72 million goal for the month.
Revenue District 96 of Tawi-Tawi ranked third P2.38 million collection in September, up 3.86 percent from P2,29 million goal.
Lozares, meanwhile, clarified that the collection performance rating was based on the actual collection as against the collection goal for a particular and not the amount of revenue that was collected by the district office.
He made the clarification since Revenue District 93-A of Zamboanga City has the highest collection in September, amounting to P112,318,592.48, among the seven revenue district offices in the region.
Revenue District 92 of Pagadian City, the capital of Zamboanga del Sur, ranked fourth with P34 million collection, up 3.82 percent from P32.77 million September goal; while Revenue District 95 of Sulu, followed with P3.2 million collection, or 2.21 percent higher than the P3.14 million collection goal.
Revenue District 94 of Basilan province ranked sixth with 1.38 percent collection performance rating after collecting P6.73 million against the collection goal of P6.6 million.
Revenue District 93-A of Zamboanga City has registered a collection performance rating of 1.10 percent after collecting P112.3 million compared to the target collection of P111.09 million.
