Some 754 household beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program will also get benefit from the Self Employment Assistance-Kaunlaran (SEA-K) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office (FO) III.
SEA-K project development officer III Lilia Ediza said the beneficiaries are from the Pantawid Pamilya Set 1 areas, namely, the municipalities of Licab, Talugtug, Gabaldon and Carranglan – the four poorest municipalities of Nueva Ecija.
Ediza said there are about 7,545 household beneficiaries being catered to by the Pantawid Pamilya in the four pilot areas from 2008, of which 10 percent will be covered by the SEA-K program.
The beneficiaries will be ranked and selected based on their willingness, skills and socio-economic status.
Eligible beneficiaries are entitled to receive P5,000 capital assistance payable for one to two years.
The DSWD FO III has allotted a more than P3-million budget from its SEA-K recovery settlement fund (RSF) to sustain the program.
By the end of May 2011, she said the social preparation will be completed (orientation and basic business management training) and the distribution of capital assistance to the 754 beneficiaries.
They will be grouped into 25 to 30 members and a maximum of five members for the sub-groups. The groups will have their common bank account where the capital assistance will be deposited by the DSWD.
