An American citizen, reportedly a back-up dancer of American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert was prevented from leaving the country after he was caught carrying 18 pieces of M-16 ammunition inside the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Taylor Bratton Green was stopped by members of the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (PNP-ASG) right at the initial security screening after X-ray technicians found the bullets inside his check-in bag.
Green is part of Adam Lambert’s Manila concert that was held last Sunday at the SM Mall of Asia concert grounds in Pasay City.
When asked by PNP-ASG PO1 Fernando Pineda about the bullets, Green reportedly confirmed ownership of the bullets although he said it was not real and that he uses it as a bracelet.
The 20-year-old dancer said he bought the faux bullets in New York City and uses it as props in his shows.
PO1 Pineda informed Green the possession of bullets, be it real or replica, is illegal under Philippine laws especially during the Comelec gun ban which is presently in effect.
The American performer was prevented from boarding his flight to Hong Kong and was brought to the Police Center for Aviation Security for further investigation. Later, he was allowed to leave the country.
