An association of persons with disability (PWD) recently received a P67,000 start-up capital for bead accessories business from the local government unit of San Jose de Buenavista in Antique.
Mayor Rony Molina turned over the check to Jay Osumo, vice president of the San Jose Association of Persons with Disability, Inc., as one of the highlights of the 33rd National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week celebration.
Fe Corazon Tacogdoy, information officer of the municipality, said that the PWDs have undergone training on beaded accessory making as part of the livelihood component of the Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) program of the municipal government.
The training provided the PWDs with the knowledge and skills to engage in home-based livelihood like bead accessories making to help alleviate their living condition.
During the celebration, nine children received free eyeglasses courtesy of the Rotary Club of Antique through the Onanad Optical Clinic.
