Angeles City News: New Fire truck Released

The Angeles City fire station has received a brand new Rosenbauer TLF 4000 fire truck from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Chief Insp. Gary Alto, city fire marshall, said Angeles City is among the first batch of recipients of the 38 modern fire trucks from the DILG.

"We thank President Benigno Aquino and DILG Secretary Mar Roxas for providing the new Rosenbauer fire truck which will be of great help to our city," Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan said.

The distribution of fire trucks is part of the late Secretary Jesse Robredo’s program of modernizing the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

Alto said the 38 fire trucks were part of the 76 fire trucks that the BFP is acquiring this year.

At present, Alto said Angeles City has five serviceable fire trucks.

The new fire truck is capable of discharging 2,400 liters of water per minute at 62 meters horizontally and 24 meters vertically or equivalent to an eight-storey building.

It has two small hoses that can be pulled out on-the-spot which is useful for quick response suppression.

The truck can also use water from other sources such as water hydrants and natural bodies of water.
