Following a strong earthquake off coast of western Sumatra island, a tsunami hit Indonesia on Tuesday which killed 113 people and made more than 502 people missing.
The tsunami occurred in two islands of south and north Mentawai after a 7.2 Richter scale earthquake jolted off coast of western Sumatra.
According to the seismography center affiliated to Indonesia Geophysics Agency, the tsunami occurred five minutes after the tremor.
The epicenter of the earthquake was at 78 kilometers of southwest of southern Mentawai Island and in depth of 10 kilometers under sea.
The height of the waves in some area reached three meters which ruined more than 80 percent of the houses in the littoral areas. (PNA/IRNA)
