SAN PABLO CITY, Laguna Dec. 26 (PNA) — Around 56 families were evacuated as of 9 a.m. on Monday from landslide prone areas to the barangay evacuation centers after “Nina” induced rains drenched overnight the three barangays here.

Nineteen families are from Santa Maria Magdalena, 34 family evacuees from San Mateo, both barangays nestled at the Mount Ubabis foothills and three families from San Lucas which is also a landslide-prone barangay.

San Pablo City Mayor Loreto S. Amante led the distribution of food relief and other non-food commodities to the evacuees with the City Social Welfare and Development Office.

The City Health Office Team already provided medical assistance to the evacuees.

The city engineering team also cleared the peripheral road of Sampaloc Lake from the fallen tree and other debris which temporarily stalled traffic in the area. (PNA)
