The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and the city government here is holding the first ever Zamboanga short film competition with the theme “Kultura de Zamboanga (Culture of Zamboanga).”
Mayor Celso Lobregat said the competition will be one of the highlights of the 2012 Zamboanga International Film Festival set from February 25 to 27 at the Mindoro Cinema 1 and 3, coinciding with the 75th Dia de la Ciudad de Zamboanga celebration.
Huge cash prizes await the winners — P30,000 for the first place; P20,000 for the second; and P10,000 for the 3rd placer.
The Short Film competition is open to all independent filmmakers at least 16 years old and must not have joined any major film competition, Lobregat said.
The filmmaker should be a resident of Zamboanga City or any Province of Zamboanga with at least one year residency and must present proof of residency.
Each entry shall follow the theme: “Kultura de Zamboanga”; Any Digital Camera may be used (including cellphones) and the video should be at least Three minutes but not exceeding 10 Minutes.
