The 2010 Vietnam International Agriculture Fair opened in Vietnam’s southern Can Tho city on Monday, Vietnam News Agency reported.
The one-week fair is one of the activities to boost agricultural production and rural development, said the report.
The fair also created favorable environment to attract more investment and expand business cooperation, it added.
The fair drew the participation of enterprises from China, India, Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand, the United Sates and Vietnam.
The fair showcased latest agricultural equipment and machinery, agricultural products, pesticide and advanced biological technology, according to the report.
At the fair, Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade awarded 11 enterprises in Long An, Hau Giang, Tien Giang, Can Tho provinces as well as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City for their contribution to the economic development, said the report. (PNA/Xinhua)
